Ridley Scott’s House of Gucci official trailer has just dropped – delivering drama and more – set to delight the film’s wide demographic of fashion and music fans.
The unveiling of House of Gucci‘s official posters have caused a stir recently – and now that the film’s first full-length trailer has dropped online, we’re rife with excitement.
“It was a name that sounded so sweet, so seductive. Synonymous with worth, style. Power”.
Lady Gaga (aka Patrizzia Reggiani) opens up the biopic’s two minute preview, brimming with betrayal and resentment – set to the sweet tones of Blondie’s Heart of Glass.
Father, Son, House of Gucci
The fast-paced trailer is full of anticipation: Gaga stormily announces, crossing, “Father, Son, House of Gucci”.
Gloomy imagery of the couple’s wedding follows, then dramatic confrontations and arrests. Later, there are glimpses of a hitman following Maurizio Gucci, heightening the tension surrounding his execution-style murder. Gaga’s depiction of Patrizia Reggiani appears to be a sincere, modest representation of a real femme-fatale on the brink. Driver has muted his sex appeal to play Maurizio Gucci (the heir of the Gucci dynasty), a full-fledged corporate tycoon, smoking cigarettes, with slicked-back hair in power polos. Jared Leto, Jeremy Irons, and Al Pacino are depicted in designer suits, mingling with the rest of the Gucci dynasty – with the bodacious Salma Hayek, who plays Reggiani confidante Pina Auriemmins – at their side.
Fan Speculation
Recently, fans have been speculating on how the Gucci family and brand will respond to Ridley Scott’s sensationalised portrayal of their family tragedy.
Patrizia Gucci, second cousin of the murdered Maurizio, told the Associated Press in April,
“We are truly disappointed.… They are stealing the identity of a family to make a profit, to increase the income of the Hollywood system…. Our family has an identity, privacy. We can talk about everything, but there is a borderline that cannot be crossed.”

The Kering-owned Gucci label has said next-to-nothing about the biopic’s imminent arrival. However, Gucci pals like Leto and Salma Hayek, the wife of Kering’s François-Henri Pinault, appear in the film; forming ties between the house and the production.
Presumably, House of Gucci will lead to a reinvigorated interest in the Gucci brand. Since the beginning of 2021, numerous content creators have bet on the synergy which runs between Hollywood and the fashion industry. The Netflix series, Halston, for example, has resulted in a capsule collection to celebrate the show’s release. Will Gucci find a way to profit from this family drama?
