The artist revealed the collaboration in his Homer catalogue which has now been launched.
Frank Ocean launched the debut jewellery collection from his new luxury brand, Homer, last month. He also teased an upcoming Prada collaboration which generated anticipation in his fans. Although he kept details characteristically under the radar, images of the crossover collection appeared in a catalogue, available on request or at Homer’s NYC store.
Ocean’s Homer collection has now dropped exclusively at the label’s New York store at 70-74 Bowery. In addition to luxury jewellery pieces, the debut assortment included silk scarves printed with shapes that mirror those seen in the jewellery line. An amazing selection of opulent clothing. The launch of Homer set the stage for the upcoming reveal with Prada.
More details of the multi-hyphenate artist’s collab with the Italian label come courtesy of Huxley.
“Homer has re-imagined three pieces from Prada, each in four unique colours,”
“Made in Italy by Prada, the collection features the Anorak, Backpack, and Belt Bag, with an internal co-branded tag.”
Ocean’s independent luxury company has given its spin on Prada’s anorak, backpack, and belt bag, with each piece coming in four Homer-styled pastel colours. “GQ” called it, “understated, appealingly clever, and rather intensely covetable.”
It’s noticeable that in the Homer lookbook, the Prada pieces have no signs of collaborative branding. Just the signature Prada triangular badge, even though they’re shown underneath a header that puts the Prada logo’s side by side with Homer’s. Until we get an official look at the designs, Homer x Prada will remain a mystery.
Ocean said,
“Hand on my heart, this project has kept my mind moving and my imagination turning throughout it all. All of my work now is dedicated to my family. Everything. My hope is to make things that last, that are hard to destroy, set it in stone.”
