It’s the first Monday in May, British style. Here is what you may have missed from the Royal Albert Hall.
The Fashion Awards 2021 has been and gone for yet another year. It is the event dedicated to honouring the best and next in British fashion talent since 1989. What is usually a lens into the future of fashion, this year also held a reflection in honour of the death of visionary designer Virgil Abloh only a few days prior to the event. The news may have tempered the evening, but celebrations were still intact.
As guests make their way from the steps to their seats, a style spectacle takes place. This year saw plenty of black, with white, subtle pinks and sparing pops of neon. Tommy Hilfiger stood out as a favourite, seen on Kris Jenner and Georgia May Jagger. Richard Quinn much the same, dressing Hailee Steinfeld and Billy Porter. Among the VIPs were celebrities Dua Lipa, Kris Jenner, Demi Moore, and Addison Rae. The event was hosted by American actor, singer, and author Billy Porter and in partnership with Tik Tok.
This was the first back-in-person Fashion Award that has taken place since 2019. A result of previous pandemic restrictions.
