Rebel Wilson wakes up from a 20-year coma and returns to high school in her new Movie Senior Year.
Imagine being seventeen and waking up from a fall… Only to realise you’re now thirty-seven and there are eight “Fast and The Furious” films. This is the reality for Rebel Wilson’s character Stephanie Conway in her new Netflix movie, Senior Year.
The Movie follows head cheerleader Stephanie Conway, who takes a tumble off of the pyramid in 2002. She wakes up twenty years later in 2022, now a 37-year- old woman. She is expected to continue on with her life from where she’s woken up. But poor Stephanie has missed out on twenty years of her life that her peers were able to enjoy. Stephanie decides to return to high school to complete her senior year and is determined to win prom queen. A forty-year-old in high school? A bit strange. But honestly, if anyone can pull it off it’s the hilarious and Iconic Rebel Wilson.
Navigating the New World
From the trailer, we gather that Stephanie has to navigate the new world that teens exist in today, social media and new school dynamics. Stephanie also states that this is her chance to live the life she wanted 20 years ago and be her real self. We also get a few sneak peeks of the shenanigans Stephanie Conway gets up to – including a Britney Spears tribute dance scene – very 2002 of them, and is already my favourite part.
Senior Year stars and features, Rebel Wilson, Zoe Chao, Sam Richardson, Mary Holland, Chris Parnell and Justin Hartley.
Senior Year is set for release on the 13th of May 2022 on Netflix. Check out the trailer below:
