Cannes Film Festival fashion is some of the best in the business; rivaling the grandeur of the Oscars and Met Gala.

La Croisette is home to Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, where the festival takes place each year. Thanks to an impressive range of upcoming projects featuring a guest list of future and more familiar stars, it’s putting on a display of top-notch fashion.

Some fan favourite appearances include Wes Anderson for his science fiction romantic comedy-drama “Asteroid City” featuring Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Tilda Swinton, and Margot Robbie. “May December” is Todd Haynes’ saucy and hilarious psychodrama, starring Julianne Moore and Natalie Portman. And Martin Scorsese gives us “Killers of the Flower Moon”, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Lily Gladstone, Robert De Niro, and Brendan Fraser.

Cannes’ Most Iconic Fashion Looks

Over its history, the Cannes red carpet rarely lets its fans down, giving us one of the most progressive red carpets of the year.

Some of its best historical moments include the iconic Catherine Walker gown worn by Diana, Princess of Wales in 1987. Other notable mentions are Madonna’s 1991 Jean Paul Gaultier cone bra and Amal Clooney’s radiant Atelier Versace gown in 2016.

But our all-time favourite? Bella Hadid’s Schiaparelli Couture gown with its striking gold breastplate, resembling lungs, in 2021.
