Meta is the owner of Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram; and it has developed and released a platform that is a new take on Twitter. It boasts a creative feed where people can post individual texts, updates, images and chat online. Twitter has been followed by bad press since Elon Musk acquired the platform in 2022.
Threads has reached 100 million users already and the statistics far surpass other platforms such as Instagram and Twitter. The website that documented these statistics is Techcrunch, and they have noted that Twitter is struggling because of it.
Twitter has roughly 250 million users and it has been surrounded by controversy since Tesla’s Elon Musk purchased the platform.
Elon Musk wants to be a big dick player. He is shamelessly emphasising the role of the toxic behaviour of a schoolyard boy; trying his best to puff out his chest.
The troubling relationship he has had with Twitter and Elon almost backing out of the purchasing of it, shows his complicated relationship with the platform.
However, he is now fiercely protective of the almighty platform, as it apparently can do no wrong, and the only person in the wrong currently is Mark Zuckerberg.
“Zuck is a cuck.”
Musk highlighted Zuckerg’s wrongdoings by tweeting he and Mark Zuckerberg should have “a literal dick-measuring contest.” He used confronting language such as, “cuckold” and wrote: “Zuck is a cuck.”
Twitter’s website traffic is also “tanking”, according to the chief of the internet services company Cloudflare. This comes amid signs that users are migrating to alternative platforms such as Threads, BlueSky and Mastodon.
Launching Threads, Zuckerberg says: “The goal is to keep it friendly as it expands. I think it’s possible and will ultimately be the key to its success.
“That’s one reason why Twitter never succeeded as much as I think it should have, and we want to do it differently.”
