Jimmy Choo has put forward a plan for collaboration with French design label Jean Paul Gaultier. And it is taking the form of an exclusive footwear capsule.
Born from a dual vision of femininity, empowerment, and confidence, two creative identities come together. The collection comes from Jimmy Choo, creative director Sandra Choi and JPG creative director Florence Tétier. Overall, it strives to reference and commemorate both companies’ archival heritage.
Little is known about the collection at the moment, except from the fact that it includes footwear. But we expect more information to come out in the coming weeks. Jimmy Choo’s partnership follows its recent collaboration with Sailor Moon creator Naoko Takeuchi; while JPG’s collection follows its recent release with KNWLS, as well as the announcement of its next guest designer: Simone Rocha.
In a short statement, Jimmy Choo says it is working with Jean Paul Gaultier on an exclusive capsule collection of footwear, which will be available in selected stores globally and online in October.
Further details about the collection are not yet available. Just that the Jimmy Choo / Jean Paul Gaultier collection is coming by way off by the house’s respective creative directors. They are Sandra Choi and Florence Tétier with “a strong reference on both brands archival legacies”.
Both brands adds,
“The collaboration fuses two creative identities founded on a shared vision of powerful, confident and glamourous femininity.”
Until then, the Jimmy Choo x Jean-Paul Gaultier collection will be available in select shops worldwide and online in October 2023.
