Maisie Williams, aka Arya Stark of Game of Thrones fame, announced that she would be joining popular sci-fi series Doctor Who this year as a guest and is already on location to film her scenes. Williams gushed on her first day on set: “I’m so excited to be working on Doctor Who as it’s such a big and important part of British culture. I can’t wait to meet the cast and crew and start filming, especially as we’ll be shooting not too far from my home town.”
There’s no word on what role Williams will play but executive producer and writer Steven Moffat said: “we’re thrilled to have Maisie Williams joining us on Doctor Who. It’s not possible to say too much about who or what she’s playing, but she is going to challenge the Doctor in very unexpected ways. This time he might just be out of his depth, and we know Maisie is going to give him exactly the right sort of hell.”
The ninth season of Doctor Who will start this spring with Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman returning as the Doctor and Clara Oswald respectively.
Meanwhile, Game of Thrones will return on April 12th with more promises of wit, blood, dragons and apparently something that will shock fans of the book series.
…Hopefully it isn’t about the death of another Stark.
