Emily Bett Rickards, best known for her role as Felicity Smoak from the TV superhero series Arrow has been cast in the psychological thriller Slumber.

Directed by Darrell Wheat, Slumber follows the experiences of a mother who after awakening from a coma, must piece together the fragments of her past and find her missing daughter. She has apparently undergone an experimental procedure and finds herself in a hospital that may have a mind of its own. Scary stuff on premise.

Bett Rickards will take on the mysterious role of Stevens, not much is known about the character save the name. Whether she plays the mother and main character is unclear but we can only hope given her commendable work on Arrow.

There’s always trepidation when TV stars take the step to the big screen, as is the case with all the performers here. Generally, they can forge a successful path if they enter the fray on the back of some big names or are in a big-budget film. Unfortunately this film doesn’t appear likely to attract a huge amount of attention or money, so even if the acting is great it may go unnoticed. Only time will tell.
Alongside Bett Rickards, the film will feature Darby Stanchfield from Scandal and Meaghan Rath from Being Human. What roles these women will play is still cloudy, it may even be that Stanchfield or Rath will be taking up the role of the mother.

Slumber will also feature Isaiah Mustafa, Richard Harmon and Chris Mulkey will play a doctor. Also cast was Lulu Wilson, a young actress who will likely be playing the daughter, Maya.
The movie is still in the process of filming so there is only so much we know. Still all the intrigue and mystery around the characters and who plays who, is enough to keep me thirsty to know more.
