Gucci’s new floral capsule collection will be debuting exclusively on May 12 on e-commerce website Net-A-Porter.
Designed by Gucci’s creative director Alessandro Michele, the 20-piece collection will include everything from accessories such as iPhone cases – imagine how stylish that case would be, to casual shoes and scarves. The collection will also feature a pair of retro flared jeans with some floral embroidery as well as new versions of the fan favourite Dionysus bag which looks set to be as popular as its predecessor.
The partnership between Gucci and the online retailer does not come as much of a surprise, as the fashion brand has consistently remained as one of the top 3 best-selling brands for the website. Discussing the brands popularity on the site, Net-A-Porter President Alison Loehnis said,
“The take-up from customers has been really incredible around all categories. We are selling loafers, but we are selling tons of RTW and fine bags, so this is really an across-category initiative.”
Loehnis also said of the new collection that, “Working on the exclusive project has been a thrill and we’re incredibly excited to be launching this global first on Net-a-Porter. Alessandro Michele has an immense talent and vision and as we’ve come to expect from him, the collection is exquisite.”
But as exquisite as the collection may be with the designs allowing them to be worn for almost any occasion, the prices for each piece will be considerably expensive and aren’t as practical as the pieces themselves, with prices beginning as US$270 to $5,300. Maybe we will need to think about the phone case…
But regardless of the price, with it being mere hours away from debuting online, the floral collection is sure to cause an online frenzy.
