A Bright Future Is Anticipated For The Power Rangers

Lionsgate is very excited about their upcoming Power Rangers movie, so much so that there could be as many as six to seven sequels.

It’s all about superheroes these days so it should not be such a surprise that the multi-colored teen action fighting power rangers are getting their own film. Personally I don’t recall a lot about the rangers, I was never really all that engaged with the franchise. That being said, this new next gen look the movie seems to be going for certainly has my interest piqued and I’m not the only one.
The story is set to follow the experiences of five ordinary highschoolers who are chosen by ‘destiny’ to face an evil alien force that threatens world destruction. On face value I have to say it does not sound all that original. In fact it sounds like the recipe for generic, boring slop which only a killer soundtrack could redeem (think Tron: Legacy, which was actually quite fun). Nevertheless, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer stated that the company could be looking to make up to six or seven films in total.
“We are really, really excited about the Power Rangers movie. We could see doing five or six or seven.”
This projection comes from the positive reactions fans have had to the new Power Rangers armour suits.
