“Usually I use sketches and plan each photograph beforehand. With this project, however, I left much more space for improvisation. I wanted the poses to come from the movement of the models. I invited performers and dancers to act as models and left them to express themselves. Thanks to their movements, the painting on their bodies came alive.” Says Kyselková

The video for Kyselková’s latest project has appeared on SHOWStudio and her photographic series published on DazedDigital. She was inspired by statues and paintings from a young age. She worked with a number of fashion photography industry names including Katrine Roberts, Beth Eloise Fraser, Emily Howard, Michael Moon, TingTing and Michaela Dvorakova. Illustrator Alina Zamanova was asked to paint the artwork on the models with her original style to create distinctive looks for each model. Moon, further developed their unique looks with hairstyling. Stylist Anya Oderyakova put the original fashion items with each model to create the finishing touches.

“The idea behind this is that the models can awaken the artwork through the movement of their bodies. The painting or illustration becomes slightly distorted, but it brings the artwork and its colours to life.” Says Kyselková

Kyselková aims to break the mould for the stereotype look for the typical model and create a more diverse images for women to look up to.

“In the fashion industry, there’s still a ‘standard’ type of model. I’m trying to challenge this. I believe real beauty comes with diversity and variety. I like to use the body as a piece of clay which can be reshaped with different poses or movements. I like to use, and see, the body as a structure.” Says Kyselková

Kyselková has worked for i-D magazine, Wonderland, Elle and Vogue Italia and she has worked in New York, Paris, London, Sevastopol, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
