Fresh from the Olympics, Katy Perry continues her winning streak by announcing her new footwear collection.
Known for her kooky (or should we say cookie?) fashion sense, including candy-themes, sparkles and colourful wigs, designing a footwear collection “felt like a natural first step for me”, she told WWD.
Her range will include heels, sandals and sneakers varying in price from $59 to $299, and to appear in department and specialty stores, as well as online. Pairing with Global Brands Group., Perry specified that she had been researching companies for years, in search of a partnership that was the right artistic fit. Perry noted that as a managing and licensing company, Global Brands Group Holding Ltd. has the “international reach and resources to bring my canvas of ideas to life.”
The line is sure not to disappoint, with WWD listing “metallic and floral prints” as designs to look out for. You’ll have to wait though – the collection will be out in 2017. But if it’s anything like Perry’s signature style, it will be well worth the wait. Maybe we can expect some sneaky kitten features. How does it sound? Simply purr-fect.
