Trap and hip hop artist Travi$ Scott is lit, literally, in Saint Laurent’s short film for their Spring 2017 Collection.
Anthony Vaccarello has revealed his latest work for Saint Laurent following his debut show in September. The short film, directed by Nathalie Canguilhem, stars trap artist Travi$ Scott, as well as some new faces: Agnes Akerlund, David Friend and Vittoria Ceretti who all walked the September show.
The film follows the likes of a road trip and highlights the elements such as water, air and fire as Scott’s blazer is lit by a blaze. The short, filmed in July this year, focuses on a series of different landscapes and architectures that all perfectly capture the essence the new season for Saint Laurent.
While it may not be Scott’s first time modelling (he has also modelled for Alexander Wang’s SS16 campaign) it may become a recurring career move for the hip hop artist and several other hip hop artists to enter the modelling and fashion industry in conjunction to the musical world.
As well as being iconic in the music world, there is a strong push for musicians to grow their names into the fashion industry and become icons there. Becoming a multi-industry artist is now a more popular trend in the modern times.
The Spring 2017 collection is to be released on November 9th at all Saint Laurent stores and online.
