An Archive of Condé Nast Fashion Photography Coming to Gold Coast This Summer

Condé Nast’s iconic archive of fashion photography is coming to sunny Queensland later this year.

The Gold Coast City Gallery has been named the host of the much anticipated exhibition, Coming Into Fashion: A Century of Photography at Condé Nast. Just as the name of the exhibition implies, there will be iconic images from the past 100 years that celebrate the works of Cecil Beaton, Mario Testino and the like.

There’s images from New York to Paris and London to Milan, all celebrating what it means to be a fashion photographer for Vogue, Vanity Fair and Glamour.

The collection of images were selected by curator Natalie Herschdorfer showcase the harsh difference between fashion photography from 1911 to now. Produced by the Foundation for the Exhibition of Photography, the exhibition will also look at the early works of photographers like Guy Bourdin, Horst P. Horst and Erwin Blumenfeld.

In addition to the original prints and pages that represent every era of fashion, the exhibition will also include a selection of vintage couture from Australia’s largest collection of fashion from the late 1700’s- 20th Century; The Darnell Collection. 

The exhibition will run from November 25, 2017 to February 18, 2017.
