In the age of hip-hop and pop, the term 'biggest band in the world' gets bandied around quite a lot without any real meaning. Do we still have any huge bands? U2 kicked off their hugely successful tour marking the 30th anniversary of their album, The Joshua Tree earlier this year, making them one of the only bands in the world who could sell out a tour on the strength of their back catalogue alone.
