We’re with Chief Hopper in that “mornings are for coffee and contemplation”, but news of a sooner-than-expected release of Stranger Things Season 2 had us ditching a traditional caffeine hit this morning, for excitement levels rivalling that of Eleven tearing into a fresh pack of Eggos.
News of the hotly anticipated second season was dropped on the Stranger Things social media accounts late yesterday:
Some doors can’t be closed. #StrangerThings2 arrives on October 27. pic.twitter.com/NALL5HQalg

The short announcement clip and accompanying poster tease of a spectacular storm a ’brewing in Hawkins. The vicious, and might we add stunning, weather system hints at another breach of the sinister Upside Down… An official synopsis, posted by Netflix, all but confirms our suspicions.
It’s 1984 and the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana are still reeling from the horrors of the Demogorgon and the secrets of Hawkins Lab. Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those who survived.
Could it be that Will has returned with a nasty souvenir after his vacation in the Upside Down? Will Barb return as a monstrous Demogorgon? We’re secretly holding out for her return.
Stranger Things joins a handful of fresh releases already announced this week, so don’t blame us if we emerge from our Spring binge-fest resembling Joyce Byers.
Season 2 of Stranger Things will premiere on the 27th of October, on Netflix.
