Next cab off the ‘After the Lockouts’ teaser rank is Tyson Koh, producer of RAGE and campaign manager of anti-lockout advocacy group, ‘Keep Sydney Open’.
Tyson Koh has made the rounds in all aspects of Sydney’s event life. From DJ’ing at events such as Big Day Out, Parklife and the Biennale of Sydney to working with major events such as Sydney Festival and the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
A key player in the ‘Keep Sydney Open’ campaign, Tyson has been at the forefront of the debate on Sydney’s nightlife and is a passionate advocate for cultural vibrancy. Koh is also a key contributor to the state government on the future of Sydney’s flailing night time economy.
Sharing Paul G Roberts’ sentiment, Tyson reminisces on the pre-lockouts nightlife,
‘It was a place where you wanted to be, and I think there was a sense that Sydney was coming of age and that people were coming here because they heard that it was this amazing energetic place. I think Sydney was one of the most exciting cities in the world.’
