Auckland based quartet, Openside, have released the epic music video to accompany their latest single Character Flaws.
Openside have once again team up with Shae Sterling for a huge production on this new music video, which they shot in the mysterious location of Guangzhou, China.
The quirky, relatable lyrics in this emo-pop anthem come straight from the heart but is completely off-set with the unnatural (but completely normal looking) setting of the music video.
“Character Flaws is an anthem for the insecure,” says Possum. “When you’re sick of people trying to reassure you that things will get better and you just need to find the fun in wallowing in your self-pity for a while.”
Character Flaws is just one track from their forthcoming three-track release Episode One: Character Flaw out on October 19.
The quartet already have an extensive list of features under their belts, with mentions in Alternative Press, Line of Best Fit and Billboard’s Pride playlist. With their two singles, No Going Back and I Feel Nothing, getting into the NZ Top 40 charts, their incisive examinations of identity and relationships are resonating with an ever-growing audience.
Openside have toured New Zealand with their headline tour and have performed as the opening acts for artists like TwentyOne Pilots, Fall Out Boy, Ellie Goulding and Panic! At The Disco.
