In the inimitable words of Keanu…whoa!
It turns out that the star of John Wick 3 is no longer getting his bullet proof suits custom made. He has slipped into something more comfortable, in a seriously badass Saint Laurent leather jacket, or so the new ad campaign would let you to believe.
With a nod to the monochrome campaigns’ originator Hedi Slimane, Saint Laurent current creative director Anthony Vaccarello revealed that the immortal man himself is the face of Saint Laurent’s Fall 2019 menswear campaign.
The campaign shot by lens man extraordinaire David Sims, has big attitude; Vaccarello provided art direction.
In the first photograph, Keanu bows his head, his eyes closed in quiet meditation. He is wearing a black leather aviator jacket with a shearling collar and looks exactly how you hope you look when thinking deeply about jackets or bullets – pensive.
In the second photo, Keanu looks all business in a pinstripe suit. His eyes are hidden behind a sick pair of movie star aviators. He reminds us, gently, that tailoring is the coolest part of wearing clothing as a man.
And in the third, Keanu’s hair wicks away from his face just so. His leather motorcycle jacket may not be bulletproof but it’s soft and supple and needs no Harley as an accessory.
