Ariana Grande is on fire with the release of her new single ‘Boyfriend’ and under fire after making an insensitive ‘joke’ on Instagram.
Ariana Grande, who released two back-to-back albums “Sweetener” and “thank u, next”, is on a roll after releasing her newest single “Boyfriend” on August 2. The singer took to social media on July 30 to release a short teaser featuring pop duo, Social House who helped produce “Thank U, Next” and “7 Rings.”

Grande had been teasing fans on Instagram with posts on the set of the music video and captions that seemed like song lyrics, now confirmed with the tracks release.
Just days before the release of “Boyfriend”, Grande is under fire over a comment that she made on a friends Instagram photo.
Wait WHAT?? an 8-year-old girl who was violently killed, strangled and suffocated cannot be anyone's costume… pic.twitter.com/MwaAXavyBE

Doug Middlebrook posted a photo of the front cover of a newspaper with 6-year-old JonBenet Ramsay. He captioned the post, “No one has done more covers.” Grande then comments, “I cant WAIT for this to be your halloween look,” rubbing everyone the wrong way.
Following the call-out on twitter, Grande apologised and replied to the original poster in response to the backlash. She received more criticism as she said she deleted it ‘quickly’, however, screenshots show that it was up for a whole day.
@ivanmoratroya yeah no i deleted it very quickly and understand that it’s not at all funny. this was out of pocket and i sincerely apologize.

As if that wasn’t enough fuel for the fire, the post above wasn’t her first apology. The singer’s first ‘apology’ (now deleted) received twice the backlash as she excused her behaviour by saying, “dark jokes are coping mechanism for me and yet i hate when other people make them.”
Fans of the 26-year-old expressed their disappointment and annoyance at her ‘half-assed’ apologies and obsession with deleting tweets. However, as always, other fans jumped to her defense, accepting her apology as sincere.
