Netflix favourite Stranger Things has officially been renewed for a fourth season and fans are going ham with speculations. This renewal means that fans will now be able to get answers to some of the most mind-boggling cliffhangers that Season 3 cruelly left us with.
The news comes just three months after Season 3 premiered in July and was very well received by fans. Along with that came a cryptic teaser to welcome the new season.
The footage begins with the series’ signature synth-wave opening theme before showcasing a red neon 4 embedded in the alternate dimension, the Upside Down. It then cuts to a black screen with a cryptic line of text that reads “We’re not in Hawkins anymore,” which connects to how Season 3 ended.
No spoilers here but, if you know you know.
Following this bombshell of news, co-creators of the hit series, Matt and Ross Duffer have signed a multiyear film and TV projects deal with Netflix; which means we’ll be getting more of this horror, sci-fi goodness.
“The Duffer Brothers have captivated viewers around the world with Stranger Things and we’re thrilled to expand our relationship with them to bring their vivid imaginations to other film and series projects our members will love,” said Chief Content Officer of Netflix, Ted Sarandos in a statement.
“We can’t wait to see what The Duffer Brother have in store when they step outside the world of The Upside Down.”
A release date for Season 4 is yet to be confirmed but rest assured it’ll be just as quirky and dark as previous seasons.
