KAWS is urging the people to vote through his works in augmented reality with Acute Art.
KAWS has shown his support for Joe Biden once again as he urges people to vote with his innovative and interactive work in augmented reality. Free to download on Android and Apple, the artist urges people to register to vote through his playful figures. This is not the first time the artist has shown his vocal support for Democratic presidential nominee where just last month he participated with over 100 artists in an online fundraiser to raise money for the candidate.
As election day looms closer, the artist has released his work named ‘VOTE HIM OUT’, which features a blue, green and aqua geometrical figure. They have the iconic KAWS ‘xx’ eyes with the words ‘vote’, ‘him’, ‘out’ on each of their bodies. Through his work, KAWS is promoting voters to go and vote out the current president. This art was completed in collaboration with Lucas Zanotto, a designer, animator and director who is known for his colourful and fun content.
In other news, many artists including Barbara Kruger, Amy Sherald and KAWS have also recently collaborated with New York Magazine and Iamavoter to create ‘I Voted stickers’ to promote people to participate in the presidential elections. As many people will be voting through mail due to the restrictions of the Coronavirus, this initiative was created for the people who will be missing out on their deserved ‘I Voted’ sticker.
