Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal the Movie is a direct follow up to the most recent episode of the Sailor Moon series. It explores the ‘Dream’ story arc featured in the original manga by Naoko Takeuchi and it begins with a solar eclipse event in Tokyo. Amidst a mysterious solar eclipse, Sailor Moon and Chibiusa meet Helios; a mysterious Pegasus who is looking for two maidens to break the seal of the Golden Crystal. Shortly thereafter, the Dead Moon Circus spread some nightmarish incarnations across the world and Usagi and the rest of the Sailor Soldiers are set on a quest to protect the universe and prevent the bad guys from getting to the Legendary Silver Crystal.
Naoko Takeuchi
Sailor moon first aired in 1991 as a Japanese manga series, illustrated by the renowned Naoko Takeuhci. After attending Kyoritsu University, she earned a degree in chemistry before becoming a pharmacist. Shortly thereafter, Takeuchi switched career paths to establish herself as a manga artist. This led the way to her first project, Codename Sailor V. This was the start of the Sailor moon franchise. Inspired by her favourite shoo manga, her style references The Rose of Versailles, Candy Candy and Glass Mask.
“From a hit TV series in the 90s that was broadcast in more than 40 countries to more than 30 million sold copies worldwide of the original manga, ‘Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon’ has established herself as an iconic character like no other, standing the test of time with a loyal fanbase across the globe.”
