The four-part docuseries releases 8 August on Showtime, and explores the mystery that has led humanity to question our position in the universe.
The docuseries will explore sightings and also tackle the suspicious activity from the U.S government.
Abrams will executive produce the series, along with Zipper, Mark Monroe and Sean Stuart. Ben Stephenson and Rachel Rusch Rich from Bad Robot will also contribute to the show.
Why Now?
There has recently been an increasing number of statements made by many high ranking U.S individuals which have raised eyebrows. This was until reports were published by large media corporations such as the New York Times.
The reports revealed that the U.S government is indeed investigating UFOs. Other quotes and events implying government investigation of UFOs include:
- Government officials stated that a report with information regarding UFOs will be released in June.
- John Ratcliffe, the former director of national intelligence, “There are a lot more sightings than have been made public.”
- A former director of the C.I.A. said on a podcast that, “some of the unexplained sightings might be some type of phenomenon.”
- Former President Obama appeared on a late show and was asked about the existence of aliens, “there is footage and records of objects in the skies,” he said. “We can’t explain how they move.”
The docuseries comes as a result of these reports of the U.S government taking action in uncovering UFOs.
There is no doubt that the docuseries will deliver ground-breaking discoveries. However, there is some concern with how much the docuseries will show us. Will we see more than just blurry images with creepy music or will we witness the confirmation of extraterrestrial life?
