The series will feature exclusive interviews and archival footage straight from inside the mansion itself. Or as the teaser mentions, “on all levels of the Playboy ladder” including former director of Playmate promotions Miki Garcia; Hefner’s former girlfriends Holly Madison, Bridget Marquardt, and Sondra Theodore; his personal valet Stefan Tetenbaum; “bunny mother” PJ Masten; and members of his staff and inner circle. The documentary will even bring the late legend’s personal bodyguard and butler to speak.
Elaine Frontain Bryant, Executive Vice President and Head of Programming for A&E said“The fantasy world of Playboy has been shrouded in secrecy for decades and we are proud to lift the veil on these long-hidden stories.”

The Hefner Legacy

There have been many films and TV shows dedicated to highlighting Hugh Hefner’s legacy prior to his death. Most of them celebrate the decades-long ruling of his industry. His ability to build a bridge to the mainstream where other similar publications were shunned was also another area that was heavily documented.
We’ve also seen the photos of Hefner and the celebrities who made appearances around the mansion. However, we rarely hear the story of those making a living there. Tune in to see the story through the perspective of the people who lived in Hefner’s universe.
The knowledge that such a docu-series was indeed in the works came from Carla Howe, a former Playboy bunny herself. Howe revealed that she had been meeting with many women who had told her some negative tales of Hefner, though she did clarify to say that she had never been a victim to such untoward and unseemly behaviour herself.
Carla Howe, former playboy bunny said, “I never had any bad experiences with him but there are a couple of girls who did. Some girls are coming out and saying bad things about him. I’ve heard bad stories. I’ve heard they take turns with him. They’d all be in a little room together.”
Secrets Of Playboy will air on A&E in 2022.
