Dior has introduced Anya Taylor-Joy as its new global brand ambassador. The star will act as an ambassador for both women’s fashion and makeup, overseen by Maria Grazia Chiuru and Peter Philips.
The actress is most highly celebrated for her award-winning role as Beth Harmon in the Netflix global smash hit The Queen’s Gambit. She won over audiences and critics in The Witch. The actress has also recently signed on to Edgar Wright’s Last Night in Soho and the coming-of-age film Here Are The Young Men.
The vintage outfits worn by Anya Taylor-Joy in The Queen’s Gambit have become so popular that searches for fashion items included within the Netflix series skyrocketed. As Dior’s newest global ambassador, the rising star’s unmistakable style will now serve one of the world’s most iconic luxury brands.
Years-Long Dior History
Taylor-Joy has a years-long red carpet history with Dior, many of which she has collaborated on with stylist Law Roach. Her Dior Cruise goddess gown look turned heads in Athens, as did her canary-yellow shawl and bold red lip at the 2021 Emmy’s.
As Dior’s newest global ambassador, the rising star’s unmistakable style will now serve one of the world’s most iconic luxury brands. Dior is, naturally, the perfect pairing for the award-winning actress.
In an instagram post, the fashion house said,
“Dior is delighted to announce Anya Taylor-Joy as new global ambassador for fashion and make-up. Seen wearing several house creations in recent months, for the 26th Critics’ Choice Awards she epitomised modern elegance in a draped and macramé-detailed tulle gown from the Dior couture spring/summer 2020 collection by Maria Grazia Chiuri.”
Taylor-Joy is the most recent recruit for the French fashion label, which has recently also taken on British tennis champion Emma Raducanu as a face of the label.
Breakout Success
Taylor-Joy has worn a number of Dior looks in the past year. Following the breakout success of the Netflix limited series The Queen’s Gambit, she earned an Emmy nomination for lead actress. She also won a Golden Globe, a SAG Award, and a Critics’ Choice Award.
Now that she joins the prestigious group of Dior ambassadors; which also includes BLACKPINK’s Jason and Yara Shahidi, she has a bunch of new duties. Per RUSSH, a press release explains that her new obligations include,
“Showcasing the designs and creations of women’s creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri and creative and image director of makeup Peter Philips”.
The actress, who is also a Tiffany & Co. ambassador, has landed on practically every best-dressed list with her breathtaking silhouettes. The CFDA also made a public announcement last week about the star. She is set to receive the first-ever Face of the Year award at their ceremony on November 10.
