Trade Your Headphones For Sunglasses Because With Zungle You Can Now “Wear the Beats”

Mum nagging you? Strangers talking too loudly in public and killing your vibe? Just feeling like you need some background music to accompany your sick get-up? Well stress no more dear friends, the world of innovation has delivered, as you can now pre-order yourself a sweet little pair of ZUNGLE Sunglasses, fully equipped with built in beats. Now you can, quite literally, block-out the world!

A kickstarter campaign has been making its way around and gaining huge support in the hopes of creating what can only be defined as tech-fashion of the future. With over 2million dollars pledged towards the creation of these shady-beats, it seems somewhat a reality that we’re eventually going to have too trade in our old, ragged headphones in substitution for a pair of blaring, iridium sunglasses!

With their clever tagline – ZUNGLE “wear the beats”–   it’s no wonder people are buzzing! The sunglasses/headphones work in a way which (in the least complex way) can be summed up like this: The sunglasses function as headphones by vibrating sound through your skull and into your inner ear, sounds lovely doesn’t it? It employs a method known as Bone Conduction which was actually invented by Beethoven (fun fact).

Although they’re innovative, the ZUNGLE sunglasses do raise some interesting questions, like, ‘do I have to charge my sunglasses?’ OR ‘DO THEY COME IN POLARIZED???’

The answer is YES (to the charger), and while they do have a bunch of cool features such as Bluetooth (so you can take incoming calls) and interchangeable lenses, I don’t know that the modern day human can deal with having ANOTHER charger amongst the 10 zillion they already own.

While ZUNGLE Panther haven’t disclosed whether they will be offering polarized lenses,  the company have said this, ‘To serve various tastes and needs of customers ZUNGLE Panther is designed to replace  it’s lenses with OAKLEY’S Frogskin lenses’ claiming they have taken into consideration what consumers want and know who the big dogs in the Sunglasses market are by matching with Oakley.

While the idea is nice, it’s still yet to be decided whether or not this invention is ‘pure genius’ or a smart ‘marketing gimmick’. Regardless, it’s safe to say they’ll make quite the fashion statement and no doubt, have an impression on the modern day, tech savvy fashionistas looming about.

For $119 USD plus shipping (or approx $156 AUD) you can pre-order these babies which are set to be released in February 2017 (before you get too eager).

While you could say this is “revolutionary” for both the music and fashion industry, bone conduction has been kicking around for a while just perhaps not in sunglasses. Perhaps that’s the reason most people can’t believe their eyes (or ears). Headphones are just so passé.
