Yesterday Marc Jacobs posted a new clip on the brand’s Instagram featuring drag queen “Milk“, who announced that the brand is hiring three beauty vloggers for their next @MarcBeauty video series!
And it’s not the first time, the brand is using this strategy to hire people through social media. Marc Jacobs started in 2014, hiring babes for his Marc by Marc Jacobs AW14 campaign. After over 70.000 users replied to the Instagram job alert through their video selfies and hashtags, it became obvious that this would be the new way of getting the coolest people involved. For the AW14 campaign, the brand hired nine girls, followed by the next clip in 2015 to recruit models for its next campaign.
The process itself is supposed to be very easy. All those interested are asked to post a clip on Instagram, telling Marc what inspires them most about the beauty and fashion world, hashtag #CastMeMarc and tag @MarcBeauty. The campaign runs until December 5th (11:59 PST) and in January, ten finalists will be flown to New York. There the finalists will produce and record a makeup application video and get to meet up with Marc himself. Then 3 final artists will be chosen.
After just one day #CastMeMarc has already hit over 100.000 replies through hashtags. We are more than excited about who will win this competition! One thing is for sure though: This decision won’t be an easy one…
