Vivid is the spectacle event of the year on every Sydney-siders calendar. In spite of the winter cold people of all ages flock to the wonderland created in city centre throughout the 23 day long event to immerse themselves in the expansive exhibition.
Vivid is a multimedia show with a plethora of event choices that fall under three main categories: lights, music and ideas. The main attraction of Vivid is the light show which has free access for everyone. The large scale, psychedelic art installation lights up some of the most famous locations in Sydney, including the Sydney Opera House, Museum Of Contemporary Art and the Sydney Harbour Bridge to name a few. While walking between the spaces there are also interactive installations for everyone to enjoy, all of which are specially designed for the festival.
While the lights might be mesmerising and very instagrammable there is also a stacked line up of really impressive local and international live music acts that come with Vivid. There is a lot of live shows though, 115 to be exact, and some of those are mini music festivals with even more acts in themselves, so we are going to give you some of the highlights of the Vivid music festival line up.
Tickets are selling out quickly, with international artists Sampha, Laura Marling and AIR (performing in Australia for the first time in 9 years) having already sold out their shows.
