Errol Flynn was an Australian actor known for his swashbuckling roles in Hollywood and an extravagant lifestyle that was often filled with controversy, so much so that a dedicated term was coined: ‘Errolesque’. Flynn was born in Tasmania on the 20 th of June 1909. His father was a lecturer and professor at the University of Tasmania. It is believed that Flynn’s interest for boats and the sea was developed from his mother’s side, whom he described as ‘seafaring folk’.
