One goose, one mission: annoy and terrify as many people as you can, as a cute little goose.
Four Australian developers have struck a goldmine with their hit game, Untitled Goose Game. The simple concept of a goose causing havoc in a small town has struck a cord with audiences, with the small game topping the Nintendo Charts. Untitled Goose Game has transcended being a simple game about a pesky little goose, into being a pop culture phenomenon.
“People aren’t writing about this as a piece of media. They’re writing about it as if it’s a cultural fad,” co-creator Nico Disseldorp told the ABC.
Initially when coming with the concept for a new game, one of the boys kept sending images of gooses into the group chat. This gag over time evolved into The Untitled Goose Game.
Untitled Goose Game was announced back in 2017, with a jaw dropping trailer that went viral. The Melbourne Boys behind the game were then signed by US publishing company Panic.
The Aim:
The gameplay is extremely simple. Your ultimate goal is to tick off a list of annoyances that you need to complete. Steal the boy’s glasses, break the lady’s broom and get on TV. Each thing you need to accomplish provides a challenge, with you constantly needing to figure out the most efficient way to complete your goal.
Untitled Goose Game has taken the Nintendo E-Shop by storm, with it climbing the ranks and becoming number one on the charts. This success was unprecedented, with it toppling the highly anticipated remake of the Gameboy classic Link’s Awakening.
Meme Culture:
The Goose has now transcended video game culture and has now become a pop culture phenomenon, with the goose becoming a meme hero. Constantly being idolized by social media, everyone loves this pesky little guy.

The Game has reached 100,000 downloads on the Nintendo E-Shop, and is still growing in popularity. The Melbourne based developers are hoping to expand it to Playstation and Xbox to broaden their market.
Untitled Goose Game is $22.50 and can be downloaded on the Nintendo E-Shop now.
