THE IRISHMAN: An instant Martin Scorsese crime classic that’s everything you want to be, and more.
De Niro’s best work in ages, Pesci lights up the screen, and Al Pacino as Jimmy Hoffa screaming about the Kennedys is the peak of cinema!

Oh #TheIrishman is brilliant. It’s a film only Martin Scorsese could make and a film unlike anything Scorsese has made. Yes call it a masterpiece. He is a master.

Boy. #TheIrishman is a fitting homecoming for De Niro, Pacino, Pesci, and Scorsese’s ode to gangster cinema. Hilarious and sharply written. A portrait of mortality and legacy, told like a culmination of everything we have ever seen in this genre. It’s LONG but never boring. #NYFF pic.twitter.com/OBTAXem4On

I love THE IRISHMAN so much because it’s far more than another gangland notch on Scorsese’s belt. It’s an American epic concerned with profound moral decay and a lifetime’s festering regret. De Niro is sublime. Pacino is electric, with Pesci the calming foil. And it flies by!

“The Irishman” is a gangster epic. The de-aging tech can be a bit jarring, but it’s a true portrait of a life in the mafia.
De Niro, Pesci and especially Pacino all bring their best stuff and it acts as a Scorsese greatest hits album. pic.twitter.com/yE7Nfod1XK

THE IRISHMAN is a masterwork. Funny, epic, and most of all, melancholy. It’s Scorsese confronting aging, legacies, and mortality. I may or may not have teared up at the end…

The film follows the story of Frank Sheeran, a WW2 war vet and mob man played by De Niro. Sheeran reflects on the life he lived and the role he played in the disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa, along with his involvement with the Bufalino Crime Family.
The film will not only feature Robert De Niro, but also a young Robert De Niro, with expensive de-aging technology used on the film. This has led to the film having a hefty production cost of over $180 Million. This expensive technology has been used before in many blockbusters recently. It looks like they might have perfected it.
With award season around the corner, critics are suggesting that De Niro would be a prime candidate for the top award. This would pin him against his Joker co-star, Joaquin Pheonix, who is also seen as a front runner for the award.
The Irishman will be released on Netflix globally on November 27, but will also have a limited theatrical release on November 1.
