Say what you want about Elon Musk, but he’s nothing if not a man of his word. And his Tesla Short Shorts are “S3XY”.
Elon Musk is one of the world’s most influential billionaires, the multi-hyphenate inventor and entrepreneur has used his various companies to suit all manner of his various impulses over the years.
Whether he’s shooting one of his Tesla cars into space or meeting with Kanye West and subsequently endorsing his apparent presidential run, there’s seemingly not a single distraction Musk won’t fully indulge.
One of these moments came last week, as a presumably very bored Musk promised to send hedge fund manager David Einhorn a pair of actual Tesla shorts as a firm ‘I told you so gesture’. Feeling vindictive against the investors who have held short positions on Tesla stocks. Musk celebrated news of Tesla’s surging share price once more by promising a wider release of Tesla short shorts.

Not even 3 days later, Musk delivered on the promise. Overnight, Tesla short shorts, in radiant red satin with gold trim as promised, hit Tesla’s online store.
“Celebrate summer with Tesla Short Shorts … Relax poolside or lounge indoors year-round with our limited-edition Tesla Short Shorts, featuring our signature Tesla logo in front with “S3XY” across the back. Enjoy exceptional comfort from the closing bell,” the description reads.
In typical Elon Musk fashion, they’re priced at $69.420. The 420 at the end, along with being a juvenile weed meme, is also the amount at which Elon musk joked he would take Tesla private.
Dang, we broke the website

The deluge of traffic that followed managed to bring down even Tesla’s website, making the short shorts a presumed roaring success. The product is currently sold out.
