Renowned Melbourne duo The Avalanches (Robbie Chater and Tony Di Blasi) have been explorative in the production of their two new singles which venture into uncharted territory incorporating new styles, sounds, and genres. Featuring Denzel Curry, Tricky, and Sampa The Great these two new songs will feature on the band’s forthcoming third album We Will Always Love You.

‘Music Makes Me High’ is a disco-funk anthem with jazzy beats, slick vocals, and a 70s vibe that transports you to a groove infused night club dancing under the disco ball. This song is definitely a different venture for The Avalanches with every addictive beat proving the duo are musical chameleons acing new sounds, rhythms and beats.

‘Take In Your Dreaming’ featuring Denzel Curry, Sampa The Great, and production from Tricky, is a more kaleidoscopic and atmospheric tune with ambient beats, electronic notes, and smooth rap verses from Denzel and Sampa that bring a rich hip-hop R&B feel to the song. Melding together different sounds and genres from R&B, electronic, and aspects of psych-rock this song is a fresh new vibe for The Avalanches who continue to kill it whilst mixing things up.

The band’s forthcoming We Will Always Love You album is set for release December 11 and follows the duo’s 2016 Wildflower LP which was their first new album since their 2000 debut Since I Left You. The Avalanches have had a busy 2020 sharing a string of singles from their new album including ‘We Will Always Love You’ featuring Blood Orange, ‘Running Red Lights’ featuring Rivers Cuomo, ‘Wherever You Go’ with Jamie xx, Neneh Cherry and CLYPSO, and ‘Reflecting Light’ with Sananda Maitreya and Vashti Bunyan.

Talking about changing up their sound and the creation of the new album Robbie said, “For us, to make the same record again, no matter how well executed, wouldn’t have been satisfying.”

“We were looking to do something that would open up possibilities for the future. Take a bit of a left turn that frees us up to do whatever we want to next.”

With the band’s We Will Always Love You album on the way, The Avalanches are sure to impress listeners with the exploration of various soundscapes throughout each song on the tracklist. As we all wait for the full album enjoy the band’s latest release and let it take you through to better days.
