Qantas Offers a “Flight to Nowhere” Around Australia

Qantas is now offering a “flight to nowhere” service which allows passengers to board a plane in a reminiscent trip to pre-covid times. 

Due to the travel restrictions put in place thanks to the Coronavirus pandemic, Qantas is now offering passengers a chance to experience the feeling of travel again with their ‘flight to nowhere’ package. The first flight is set to depart from Sydney Domestic Airport on October 10th and passengers will be able to experience a 7 hour scenic flight as the plane will make a loop around the beautiful areas of Gold Coast, the outback, Sydney Harbour Bridge, and the Great Barrier Reef.

This package also includes in-flight entertainment as well as the chance to meet a celebrity host. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner was the vehicle of choice and is known for its large windows, perfect for sightseeing from the plane. Ranging from $566 to $2,374 AUD, the flight is unsurprisingly one of the quickest selling flights as many people miss the taste of travelling.

With high demand, the Qantas CEO, Alan Joyce, has promised that the company will look into providing more scenic flights whilst people wait for the borders to reopen.

With the flight industry being one of the most affected from the Coronavirus, the approaching talks of opening the borders may provide a comeback to airline companies.
