Welcome back to FIB’s weekly drop list. Here are the best new releases for the second week of October.
This week’s highlights include FA’s FW21 Drop #2, A-Cold-Wall* x Beats, NBA x Colourpop & more.
Fucking Awesome, Drop 2 FW21
Fucking Awesome (FA) was formed in 2001 by professional skating legend Jason Dill, Mike Piscitelli, and Anthony Ave Engelen (AVE). The brand is known for its authenticity and attitude, displaying punk-type designs which reflect Dill’s abrasive personality.
Dill’s fashion beginnings sit with the Supreme crew, resulting in a strong relationship with the streetwear behemoth. Dill used to make tees and hand-deliver them to the Supreme store for them to sell in the early days of Fucking Awesome. Since then, FA has collaborated with big brands Adidas and Vans; quickly becoming of the most well-respected skate and streetwear brands due to its uncompromising originality.
Drop #2
This week, Fucking Awesome returns with the second drop of its seasonal collection. The new additions expand on FA’s classic aesthetic, fusing sportswear with functionality.
The new outerwear includes the fully-lined ‘2021 Jacket’, which has a soft structural tyvek shell and sherpa fleece lining. The heavyweight oversize flannel, long sleeve corduroy, and polo shirt are all nice layering choices. FA also recreates a rink classic with their hockey shirt. The utility painter paints and the simple PJ pants are on-point, available in a variety of colorways.

A-COLD-WALL* x BEATS
Founder of A-COLD-WALL*, Samuel Ross, updates the Studio3 Wireless Headphones. They arrive in a speckled grey-and-chalk colourway, dropping on October 18.
The British designer has been busy translating his working-class, brutalist look onto GENTLEMONSTER, Converse, Dr. Martens, and Mackintosh over recent years.
Now, Ross reworks a 2010 classic, offering the device in “ACW* Concrete,” an industrialised slate-and-chalk colourway.
The headphone’s original features such as active noise cancellation and a 22 hour battery life have been kept. The device now supports Fast Fuel charging and has upgraded microphones to improve the audio experience. The built-in Apple W1 chip allows for easy Apple connection.
The offering also has sustainability in mind, with its headphone case crafted from recycled wood fibre, sourced from sustainably managed forests.
Per Hypebae, Ross explains in a statement that,
“The focus of our Beats A-COLD-WALL* collaboration was to convey a universal material language that is both sensitive and recognizable to all, ensuring a minimalistic sensibility carried through the process.”
The Studio3 collaboration launches via ACW* on October 15, then Apple’s website and select retailers on October 18.
NBA x COLOURPOP
Colour Pop is set to release a range of makeup inspired by six NBA teams this week. Following a collaboration with Drake’s company OVO, the NBA teams up with ColourPop on a beauty collection for the 2021/2022 game season. The cosmetics firm has previously created specialised beauty products for such fandoms as Sailor Moon, Lizzie McGuire, and the Power Puff Girls.
The newest NBA offering features the Boston Celtics, Chicago Bulls, Dallas Mavericks, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, and Miami Heat.

Each NBA collection features a 9-pan eyeshadow palette, drawing its inspiration from the chosen team’s colours in metallic and matte shades. The collections also feature a Glitterly obsessed face gel, a set of face stickers, a set of Creme Gel Liners and a clear makeup bag bearing the team’s logo.
The NBA x ColourPop collection is available on October 15 via ColourPop’s website.
Louis Vuitton x Frank Gehry
This October, Louis Vuitton and architect Frank Gehry collaborate to launch a breakthrough perfume collection. Inspired by Frank Gehry’s unique aesthetics based on movement and distortion, Jacques Cavallier Belletrud pushes hypersensitivity to the extreme, concentrating the quintessence of perfumery.
The Les Extraits line includes five new fragrances drawn up by the brand’s head perfumer, Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud, in Gehry-designed bottles.
This is Belletrud’s first collection of Louis Vuttion perfumes without top, heart, or base notes, the foundations of traditional fragrances. He told Wallpaper,
“I wanted to venture where no one goes anymore. To reinvent the notion of an Extrait [the most highly concentrated form of perfume] in a contemporary way.”
He went on to explain,
“I wanted to deconstruct the very architecture of perfume. That’s how Les Extraits Collection was born: five perfumes with no top, heart or base notes, in order to reveal the quintessence of each olfactory family.”
Belletrud distils each aroma into an extract, examining the aroma’s former families. He notes that this is to give them “a twist, broaden them, accentuate some characteristics, and show purity.”
The Collection
The full fragrance range includes Dancing Blossom, Cosmic Cloud, Rhapsody, Symphony, and Stellar Times.
Dancing Blossom is a flurry of florals that includes Jasmine Sambac, May rose, osmanthus, and Indian tuberose, all of which combine to create an evocative and delicate bouquet. Belletrud observed,
“The rose is the most multi-faceted flower, it has a lemony freshness, tea notes, spices. Jasmine is more animal, more masculine.”
Cosmic Cloud is a journey into the unknown, containing Venezuelan Tonka bean musks and Ambrette absolute from the pistil of a Peruvian poppy. It’s boosted by the force of hypre and oak moss, with notes of cistus and bergamot, underbrush and light.
Rhapsody communicates the moment when sunlight touches the horizon. Per aeworld, “It’s the heart of chypre, the first sophisticated olfactive form in modern perfumery. I tried to bring it modernity while exalting its DNA,” Belletrud explained.
“Then, flowers bring a sensation of light, from jasmine Grandiflorum to patchouli and May rose… not forgetting yerba maté to lend that fresh, transparent tonality of green lily-of-the-valley.”
A woody framework gives way to a deep underbrush thanks to vanilla notes, vetiver and ylang ylang.
Symphony plays with the sweetness of fresh ginger zest, bergamot and grapefruit, resulting in a radiant fragrance which Belletrud describes as “the mingling of Earth and sky, the sublime harmony of the elements.”
Stella Times has swirling notes of orange blossom, plant amber and leathery notes of Peru balsam. Belletrud explains, “With the ambergris that floats in the oceans, and classic amber that is very vanilla and resinous, I decided to make a soft, white, woody, deep amber.”
