Burberry’s Open Spaces explores creative perspectives and freedom of imagination.
Burberry has launched its new Open Spaces campaign with a collection and accompanying fashion film. The famous fashion duo Mert and Marcus have shot it with an intense behind-the-scenes perspective by photographer Chris Rhodes.
The line looks at modern femininity and redefines masculinity by re-writing traditional narratives. Geometric animal-inspired prints pay homage to the beauty of the outdoors and the craft movements of the early 20th century.
The new collection offers new and bold silhouettes contrasted with the label’s trademark luxury. And of course, Burberry’s classic tartan features prominently.
Riccardo Tisci, Chief Creative Officer states,
“Freedom allows us to be creative, to dream, to be anything or anyone. Burberry, like me, has had freedom at its heart since the very beginning. This campaign celebrates the fearless spirit of exploration which connects us with one another and the natural world. It’s about pushing boundaries and pursuing endless possibilities – looking to the future and connecting us all.”

Collaborating on still imagery with Ewen Spencer, and the creative and film director with Megaforce, Burberry creative director Riccardo Tisci also showcases a short film.
It features four individuals who possess the power to explore and discover, as they head on a journey amidst the quintessential British countryside. As the dreamscape draws to a close, the four characters come together to become a single entity flying through the sky; a symbol of Burberry’s interconnectedness with nature and each other.
