Winnie the Pooh is everyone’s favourite yellow bear. But he’s about to become the world’s newest nightmare… And apparently, “This ain’t no bedtime story”.
“Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey” has released its first teaser poster. And it looks like Winnie the Pooh is no longer the innocent cuddly bear of my childhood.
From what we can see on the poster reveal, it seems that the characters have full head covering masks. You can see human hands holding the axe, and a disturbing rendition of a Winnie the Pooh head. As well as, a Piglet inspired character below.

There is no official release date for the film however, is on fast tracks while trying to keep the quality to it’s highest degree.
WHAT IS THE STORYLINE?
Not too much info about the new film is available yet. However, a few details come via a Variety interview with writer and co-producer, Rhys Waterfield. He says,
“Will see Pooh and Piglet as the ‘main villains…going on a rampage’ after being abandoned by a college-bound Christopher Robin. “Christopher Robin is pulled away from them, and he’s not [given] them food, it’s made Pooh and Piglet’s life quite difficult.”
That sounds rather heart-pounding.
Making further comments about neglect leading them down the path of animal instincts, the characters essentially have gone feral.
The film, amazingly, shot in just ten days! But, seriously if all the characters are doing is going around killing people, how long did you expect it to take?
In addition to the movie being a slasher, Waterfield wanted to incorporate some comedic aspects,
“When you try and do a film like this, and it’s a really wacky concept, it’s very easy to go down a route where nothing is scary and it’s just really ridiculous and really, like, stupid. And we wanted to go between the two.”
Hopefully, those who are horror enthusiasts will appreciate some light-hearted humour thrown in.
WHAT WOULD DISNEY SAY?
With all the hype around the new horror flick on social media, will Disney chime into the conversation?
Even though Milne’s, who is the original creator of Winnie the Pooh, earliest stories are now out of copyright, Disney does still retain exclusive use of all Winnie the Pooh characters and stories.
In the greater scheme of things everything is subject to a remake or development from previous work. And it looks like everyone’s favourite childhood bear is about to become a horror icon.
