After two decades fighting breast cancer, “Grease” star, Olivia Newton-John, died at 73 last week. The news shook the nation – but John Travolta’s tribute is comforting us all.
What else is comforting us is knowing the beloved star passed away peacefully. On August 8th at her ranch in Southern California, surrounded by her nearest and dearest, Olivia Newton-John’s battle with breast cancer concluded, freeing her of her two-decade long pain.
The star’s husband, John Easterling, took to Instagram a couple of days after her passing, describing her in the most beautiful of ways
“At Olivia’s deepest essence she was a healer using her mediums of song, of words, of touch. She was the most courageous woman I’ve ever known. Her bandwidth for genuinely caring for people, for nature and all creatures almost eclipses what is humanely possible. It is only the grace of God that has allowed me to share the depth and passion of her being for so long. In her most difficult times she always had the spirit, the humor, and the will power to move things into the light.”

And her legacy will remain through the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, which Easterling has dedicated to researching plant medicine and cancer.
Her career as a singer-songwriter that won her multiple of Grammy Awards, although memorable, was not her Olivia Newton-John’s crowning glory – according to Elle Magazine “it was her role as the wide-eyed Sandy in the 1978 film Grease that catapulted her into our hearts forever,” and we are seconding that.
But let’s not forget her about John Travolta – because his homage to her on Instagram last week gave us the comfort we were looking for. Although short, Travolta’s message made our hearts melt and definitely helped us believe in soulmates!
“My dearest Olivia, you made all of our lives so much better. Your impact was incredible. I love you so much. We will see you down the road and we will all be together again. Yours from the first moment I saw you and forever! Your Danny, your John!”
