The much anticipated sequel to ‘Finding Nemo’ is not too far away with Pixar releasing plenty of new details.
With original cast members Albert Brooks (Marlin), Willem Dafoe (Gill) and Ellen DeGeneres (Dory) confirmed to return, Pixar have announced ‘Modern Family’ stars Ty Burrell (playing Bailey the beluga whale) and Ed O’Neill (playing Hank the octopus) have joined the project. Diane Keaton also comes on board as Dory’s mother Jenny.
Burell and O’Neill both spoke at the recent D23 Expo.
Director Andrew Stanton said he initially had no plans to make the sequel but came to the realisation the story, Dory’s anyway, wasn’t over.
“I wanted to know that if this charming, forgetful fish ever got lost again, that she would be OK. That she would find her way home. And at the end of ‘Finding Nemo,’ I wasn’t confident about that. So that’s when I knew I had another story.”
The plot will largely revolve around an animal sanctuary where ocean life is rehabilitated and released back into the sea.
‘Finding Dory’ is set for release in June 2016. How excited are you?
