Dame Edna Everage Heralds In A New Era Of Fashion Fun For Westfield

“Singlehandedly, I took Australian women out of polyester and into recycled polyester.”- Dame Edna

WESTFIELD- Dame Edna’s celebrity family

Sporting the slogan “One Generation One Family One Westfield”, the Autumn Winter campaign blends together Dame Edna’s “three favourite F words” Family, Food and Fashion, with dry humour. The well-heeled “family” also include twin sisters Elektra and Miranda Kilbey (of dream pop band Say Lou Lou), Vicki Lee, Ted O’Donnell and their daughter, Yoki; fashion photographer Harold David and husband Andy Medina and their two sons Henry and Franklin; and fashion commentator and artist Kitty Callaghan with her brothers, Monty, Sam and Cal.

Perhaps the funniest inclusion is a long-awaited reveal of her mysterious son “Kenny”, played by none other than social media sensation, model and aspiring actor Christian ‘Prince’ Wilkins. Christian also happens to be the son of TV and radio personality Richard Wilkins, and remains ironically mute in Givenchy.

“You should ‘never be afraid to laugh at yourself. After all, you could be missing out on the joke of the century.” – Dame Edna

In a clever addition, the videos are accompanied by Say Lou Lou Australian/Swedish duo with their bespoke version of Australian classic “We can get Together” by Icehouse. Miranda Anna and Elektra June Kilbey-Jansson, daughters of Steve Kilbey (lead singer of The Church) and Karin Jansson (from Swedish band Pink Champagne), are creating new trends in the music world through their wistful reversioning of retro pop classics.

“True style isn’t something that changes like Melbourne weather, it is timeless and unchanging like an attractive birthmark, or Donald Trump’s hairstyle.” – Dame Edna

WESTFIELD – featuring a mix of boutique and high-end fashion brands with a dash of irreverence.

Thanks perhaps to Westfield’s new media and marketing parternship with Broadway sensation Scott Sanders of the Scott Sanders Theatrical Productions (of Dame Edna: Back With a Vengeance fame), their new season campaigns promise to achieve a whole new level of social media engagement with fashion-forward Australians. The overall effect is one of excitement and anticipation, giving us a window into a seductive world that blends luxury, street wear, art and the unexpected with iconic names we’ve grown to love.
