Explosions, close combat death-defying fights, cars rolling off the road and an unknown source slashing through the ranks of MI6 agents, Atomic Blonde seems to have it all.
Atomic Blonde is an action thriller set in 1989 Berlin. The film is based on the British graphic novel ‘The Coldest City‘, by Antony Johnstons. Most of the story of the film is depicted in flashbacks as Lorraine Broughton, portrayed by Charlize Theron debriefs her superiors on a mission completed in Berlin. Apart from the obvious physical souvenirs that she takes away from each altercation, Broughton appears almost indestructible.
It may take a second or perhaps even a third glance to notice that there’s more than just her dominating the film. The remaining cast boasts some pretty big names from the industry, including James McAvoy, John Goodman, Eddie Marsan, Sofia Boutella and Toby Jones. The film has David Leitch behind the director’s lens, a role he has taken on for films like John Wick and Deadpool 2 this year.
The film is set to give the usual spy films we know and love a run for their money. This time there’s a lady in the driver’s seat and she doesn’t appear to be holding back any punches.
