The Flatliners trailer has dropped, sparking some hearts to beat in double time…
The Flatliners 2017 trailer opens with flirty Courtney (Ellen Page) asking Jamie (James Norton) to meet up after dark asking “do you want to have fun with me later?”. While your initial instinct might be to roll your eyes at what seems like the inevitable unfolding of a love story between the two protagonists, this story has a killer twist. What you may not be aware of, is that Courtney is planning on having Jamie stop her heart andd that is exactly what happens. What??!
The movie Flatliners was originally created in 1990 starring Kiefer Sutherland, Julia Roberts, William Baldwin, Oliver Platt, and Kevin Bacon. It originated around five medical students who attempt to find what lies beyond death by conducting experiments that produce near-death experiences.
“What happens to us after we die? The only way to find out is to see for ourselves.”
This year, in an attempt to revive the award-winning film, Danish filmmaker Niels Arden Oplev stated that this 2017 film will be a sequel, rather than a remake, however, in looking at the trailer that was released on the 13th of June, it merely seems to mimic the ideas portrayed in the original film – that of five medical students and their journey to and from the afterlife. Then again, this is just the trailer.
The remake/sequel of the film stars Ellen Page, Nina Dobrev, James Norton, Diego Luna and Kiersey Clemons and also includes Kiefer Sutherland from the original film.
The trailer is successfully suspenseful, keeping the audience on edge with mild jump scares and glimpses into the thrill of the film. The sharp yet anticipating music highlights the overall theme of the film which is that of a damn good thrill.
While the movie itself isn’t set to be released until September 2017, the trailer has done its job in keeping us impatiently waiting for the film’s release.

Ashamed to admit I never saw the original but I am super looking forward to this!
Me too! Diego Luna, I’m in. Though, I’m not sure I’m digging the hair-styling.
