Miley Cyrus Sticks It To The Haters In New Song

Miley Cyrus’ Bangerz tour is, in (almost) one word, a trip. There’s inflatable poop emojis, a larger-than-life blow-up Floyd dog, furry things, a tongue slide, balloons, screaming tweens, cringing parents, butts, blunts, and a flying hot dog that the star of the night straddles. And, that’s just the beginning.

There’s music, too. (It’s a concert, after all.) Cyrus goes through her hits like “Wrecking Ball,” “We Can’t Stop,” and “Party In The U.S.A.” But, there’s a moment in the middle of the second half where she tones it down a bit, as if to say, “Hey, I can actually sing.”

Cyrus normally covers (her godmother) Dolly Parton’s “Jolene.” Recently, however, she’s been dipping her toes in the past and putting her spin on Led Zeppelin and The Flaming Lips, with James Shelton’s 1950s crooner “Lilac Wine” being her latest foray. She released an official live version of the track today. It’s a big middle finger to anyone who douts her vocal chops. She might not ever pursue this route sonically, but hey, you never know. She’s just being Miley. (ONTD!)
