Lagerfeld At Loggerheads With Zoolander

The surprise appearance of comedy icons Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller) and Hansel (Owen Wilson) at the recent Valentino show in Paris may have delighted industry heavyweights and the Internet alike, but there was at least one man unimpressed with the spontaneous publicity stunt.

Karl Lagerfeld has reportedly turned down a cameo appearance in the upcoming Zoolander sequel after confessing he “didn’t like” the recent catwalk stunt.

The Chanel and Fendi creative director, who curiously had an uncredited cameo in the original film, admitted he was approached for another cameo in the upcoming film.

“I don’t want to be in the movie,” the bombastic fashion mogul enthused to Hello! Magazine. “They wanted me in the movie! I’m not an actor.”

Whether he recalls being in the original film, we’re not sure. But Lagerfeld’s reluctance hasn’t perturbed fellow fashionistas Kanye West and model Karlie Kloss from signing up to appear.

In related Zoolander news, Ben Stiller took to Instagram to post a photo of young actor Cyrus Arnold and himself posing in character, pouting lips and all.

Arnold will play the titular character’s son, Zoolander Junior, and heir to the Blue Steel look. No word yet if he’s enrolled in the Centre for Kids Who Can’t Read Good (And Want to Do Other Stuff Good Too), but time will tell.

Zoolander 2 is set for an early 2016 release. In the meantime, enjoy the photo Stiller recently posted:
