The Beauties Behind T-Swift’s Bad Blood

What do you get when you combine music and runway beauties such as Gigi Hadid, Lily Aldridge and Karlie Kloss? If you guessed fashion show (which is, let’s be honest… the obvious answer) you are surprisingly wrong! These ladies and many more are assembling together for one star-studded Taylor Swift music video – and we think it can’t come soon enough.

Swift’s name is not ground-breaking to the public as she has been in the limelight since the age of 14. Now, at 25, she is sitting pretty on top of the global empire she has created for herself. Her smart usage of technology and social media has been a staple of the creation of her success and time and time again she has proven how easy it is for her to create a social media frenzy.

Just as social media is vital to the existence of supermodels these days, it can be applied to a wide variety of other professions to boot. Last year Swift had everyone talking about her cryptic Instagram posts, which we would later find out were hints leading to the release of her platinum-selling album 1989. Her newest endeavour is following a similar promotional path – in the last few weeks she has been gearing everyone up for a promising music video for her hit ‘Bad Blood’.

Her first Instagram post about the new music video appeared five days ago on her account: a movie poster-esque type black-and-white headshot of herself. In the image she is wearing a black leather jacket and dark makeup and has her hair slicked back. With her performances during Victoria’s Secret Fashion Shows as an idea board, we think that she’s going for a seriously cool high-fashion look.

Her caption simply reads: Meet Catastrophe #BadBloodMusicVideo.

Since the first one, nine others have popped up on her Instagram account, all equally as chic. Lily Aldridge as “Frostbyte”, Zendaya as “Cut-Throat”, Hayley Williams as “The Crimson Curse”, Gigi Hadid as “Slay-Z”, Ellie Goulding as “Destructa X”, Hailee Steinfeld as “The Trinity”, Lena Dunham as “Lucky Fiori”, Kendrick Lamar as “Welvin Da Great” and Karlie Kloss as “Knockout” are the names of her co-stars and who knows, there could be more (she does have a rather large social circle after all).

One thing is for absolute certain, her cast is one that cannot be ignored. As someone who is besties with some of the hottest models and celebrities in the industry, it’s no surprise she would band her beautiful group of friends together for one of her biggest projects to date. Seeing as the star made a full transition from country to pop music (which was a surprise for everyone to begin with), we reckon this is just one of many tricks up her sleeve.

Years ago a models career was just that: modelling. Now they are icons in their own right and clearly multitalented – so far they’re making up about half of the “cast” for this music video, which will have its debut during the Billboard Music Awards on May 17.

Why is Taylor so secretive? Well, if nothing else at least she is consistent with it. Can it be Sunday already?
