Famous for their red soles and handbags, Louboutin is making its way into the beauty industry with the release of its first ever lipstick collection.

After the launch of Louboutin’s nail polish collection last year, it was only a matter of time before the luxury French designer made its move into beauty. The first of possibly many future beauty launches, Louboutin’s lipstick range will offer three finishes: Sheer Voile (light coverage), Silky Satin (medium to full coverage) and Velvet Matte (full coverage). There’s a huge 38 shades to choose from with a number on each tube. The iconic Louboutin red will be there along with deep berries, sleek nudes and rich shades of wine — each drawing inspiration from Louboutin’s famous shoes and handbags.

“When a woman carries a handbag, we look at her shoulders. When she slips on a pair of heels, we observe her walk. If she applies lacquer to her nails, we admire her hands,” said Louboutin in a recent statement. “An object that embellishes the lips – the beacon of sensuality and organ of communication – has to be fairly amazing. The object should inspire a beautiful gesture.”

The fashion house’s Egyptian roots are present in the golden bullet-shaped tubes, each complete with silver and gold crowns. Thread a ribbon or chain through the cap and the lipstick doubles as a necklace! The collection is set for launch next month, with each shade priced at $90.
