Your hair and outfit aren’t the only things that reflect your personality: the accessories you choose say a lot about your personality.
Women’s eyes often dart to the handbag first. Fashion is used to create an outward expression of how we want others to view us. At the same time, it reflects your own opinion of yourself. Countless styles of bags exist for the plethora of personalities and styles people possess. With this in mind, we reveal what your bag and shoes say about you!
The Fringed bag
With the Bohemian style back on trend, the fringed bag is the must-have item this spring. There is no wrong way to wear them. A woman with this bag is aware of trends and always first to invest in the next new season look. She doesn’t take herself too seriously, and needs to be careful that the bag is about her future, not her past.
A woman carry little baggage is likely practical, preferring small cross-body styles. Or if she’s quite feminine, she’d carry the cross-body bag as a clutch under her arm or strapped around her hand. A woman caring a clutch cares about fashion and enjoys luxury. She is organised and sure of herself.
The Top-Handle Bag
The bag we all associate with a woman who has a successful career or a classic ladylike status. She is modern, poised and responsible. Nicolas Ghesquiere at Louis Vuitton has a leather-and-canvas, vintage-feel bag that is the must-have top-handle bag this autumn.
The Tote Bag
This woman is on the go and ready for any situation. Carrying an oversized bag like this leather tote from Mansur Gavriel, she is armed with Band-Aids, water, snacks and light reading. She’s active, down to earth and has a cluttered schedule.
Just like handbags, shoes too are no longer an afterthought of clothing. Putting aside their role as accessories, shoes reveal much about a person’s characteristics. The higher the heel, the more confident and frivolous the woman is. Short and younger women may prefer wedges, which create an element of height without the trouble of high heels. Shoes like Prada’s metal wedge are very high-end, and very much for the woman who cares about style and likes the extravagant. A more feminine woman stays away from the 6 inch heel, and instead opts for something more chunky, like this season’s designs by Salvatore Ferragamo. Or if she’s feeling aggressive, she can be seen in Michael Kors’ black leather heals with a hard lug sole.
Boots are one of the most essential accessories for winter. Louis Vuitton presents a curved-heel patent-leather boot perfect for winter, while still appealing to those who prefer elegant shoes with a tall, thin heel. Boots like Acne’s stacked-heel Pistol boots are as comfortable as flats, and worn by women who are practical and agreeable. Meanwhile the more colourful the boot, the more extroverted she is. For many women, the handbags they carry and the shoes they wear are not for aesthetic reasons, or to appeal to others, but because they enjoy the way accessories make them feel.
