Ghostbusters Teaser Trailer Released

The first teaser trailer for the Ghostbusters reboot has been released and people are justifiably excited. Since the announcement of the all female reboot of the successful 80’s trilogy in early 2015 fans and skeptics alike have been waiting to see the star studded foursome in action.
The teaser does nothing to hint at the plot of the film, the 30 second trailer opens with the obligatory New York city skyline, followed by the intense gearing up of some kind of paranormal catastrophe. The shots paired with the familiar tag line ‘Who you gonna call?’ and eerie piano rendition of the franchise’s theme song reveal the official trailer will be released on the 3.3.16. An infuriating 17 days away.

While the plot has been kept under wraps we know the effortlessly hilarious new team, (Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones and Kate McCinnon) will be joined by Chris Hemsworth and  Sigourney Weaver, with confirmed and anticipated cameos from Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd.

Fans got a small taste of what they were in for in the latest Saturday night Live episode hosted by Melissa McCarthy. A skit featuring 3 of the 4 leads (McCinnon and Jones) showcased their chemistry.

When asked about the reboot Director Paul Feig relayed his excitement and reasoning in revamping the story.

“You know, if I could do this with the funny women I know and kind of just do a new origin story…’ I’m more interested in what would happen today” – Paul Feig

The movie is set for release July 15th. Feig’s past directorial successes including Bridesmaids (2011) and Spy (2015) paired with the comedic success of the four leads almost guarantee 2 hours of laugh out loud gags mixed with surprisingly sweet sentimentalities.

Here is the first of hopefully many trailers to keep you going until the official release of the film later this year.
